نقرا من سفر القضاة الاصحاح الخامس :
19 «جَاءَ مُلُوكٌ. حَارَبُوا. حِينَئِذٍ حَارَبَ مُلُوكُ كَنْعَانَ فِي تَعْنَكَ عَلَى مِيَاهِ مَجِدُّو. بِضْعَ فِضَّةٍ لَمْ يَأْخُذُوا.20 مِنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ حَارَبُوا. الْكَوَاكِبُ مِنْ حُبُكِهَا حَارَبَتْ سِيسَرَا.
21 نَهْرُ قِيشُونَ جَرَفَهُمْ. نَهْرُ وَقَائِعَ نَهْرُ قِيشُونَ. دُوسِي يَا نَفْسِي بِعِزّ.
و في ترجمة الملك جيمس
They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
الكتاب المقدس هنا يصرح ان النجوم او الكواكب حاربت سيسرا وجيشه الكنعاني في مواجهة باراق و جيشه من بني اسرائيل وقد حار مفسري الكتاب المقدس امام هذا العدد الغامض و الذي يبدو سياقه غير منطقي فابتكروا تاويلات لا تسمن و لا تغني من جوع بحيث لا يوجد عليها دليل واحد . فمنهم من قال بان الكواكب (او النجوم) هي مجاز للتعبير عن قوى الطبيعة كالرياح و منهم من اول النجوم علي انهم الملائكة و كل هذا لا يوجد عليها دليل انما هي تكلفات و تخرصات و لا يوجد دليل لغوي على وقوع مثل هذا المجاز .
و الحق هو ما اعترفت به بعض المراجع و هو ان نزول النجوم و مشاركتها في المعركة او تاثيرها على المعركة كان معتقدا منتشرا لدى بعض شعوب الشرق الادنى .

(( 5:20. the stars fought. In Near Eastern and Mediterranean traditions various gods (Egyptian Resheph; Mesopotamian Nergal; GreekApollo) are associated with heavenly bodies(planets, stars, comets). They are occasionally viewed as leaving their courses to join in human battles, confound enemies and bring plagues to animals. As early as the end of the third millennium, Sargon’s texts refer to the sun dimming and the stars going forth against the enemy. The Gebal Barkal stela of Thutmose III also mentions the aid of stars *****ing from the sky to confuse and decimate his Hurrian enemies (see the use of stars and scepters in Num 24:7). It should be noted, however,that the stars in the Judges passage have no personalities connected to them and serve simply as Yahweh’s messengers and tools, not as personified deities. Jdg 5:20. - Job 5:23.
These two poetical fragments present the same truth on opposite sides. The first of them comes from Deborah’s triumphant chant. The singer identifies God with the cause of Israel, and declares that heaven itself fought against those who fought against God’s people. There may be an allusion to the tempest which Jewish tradition tells us burst over the ranks of the enemy, or there may be some trace of ancient astrological notions, or the words may simply be an elevated way of saying that Heaven fought for Israel. The silent stars, as they swept on their paths through the sky, advanced like an avenging host embattled against the foes of Israel and of God. All things fight against the man who fights against God.
